Bali United FC signs Jay Herdman for 2026/27 season

Bali United FC has officially completed its foreign player quota for the 2026/27 Super League season by signing Canadian-based midfielder Jay Herdman. The 22-year-old, who is the son of Indonesia national team coach John Herdman, joins the club from Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC.

Bali United CEO Yabes Tanuri stated that Herdman was a priority target following discussions with the coaching staff. The club aims to maximize its foreign player slots to prepare for both the domestic league and various supporting tournaments scheduled throughout the season. Herdman is expected to provide tactical versatility, as he can operate as both a central midfielder and a winger.

Before moving to Indonesia, Herdman played for several clubs in Canada, including Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Vancouver FC. He was part of the Cavalry FC squad that won the 2024 CPL Final. His arrival marks a significant connection to the Indonesian national team setup due to his father's leadership role.
