Bali Wildfire Contained After Burning 48 Hectares in Buleleng Hills

The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) confirmed that a forest and land fire in Buleleng Regency, Bali, was fully extinguished after scorching roughly 48 hectares of hilly vegetation. The blaze began on July 17 in the dry grass of Pemuteran Village and was visible from the Villa Bukit Kursi tourist area. A joint response team comprising the Buleleng Regional Disaster Management Agency, the Indonesian military, police, fire department, the Public Order Agency and local residents successfully suppressed the fire, preventing it from reaching nearby residential zones.

BNPB head Abdul Muhari announced that conditions at the site are now safe and urged the public to stay vigilant for new hotspots during the dry season.
