Balkan Botevgrad loses to Lietkabelis in EuroCup

Bulgarian basketball champion Balkan Botevgrad suffered its fourth consecutive loss in the EuroCup, falling 57-64 at home to Lithuanian side Lietkabelis. Despite a strong third quarter where the hosts briefly took a 43-42 lead, Balkan struggled with offensive efficiency, committing 21 turnovers compared to Lietkabelis' 10.

Aleksandar Stoymenov led Balkan with 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Konstantin Toshkov contributed 10 points and 5 rebounds. Although Balkan held an advantage in rebounding, their poor long-range shooting proved decisive.

Following the match, head coach Bogdan Karaichich expressed pride in the team's fighting spirit but criticized a lack of urgency and intensity from certain players. He noted that while the defense performed as planned, the team struggled to find a rhythm on offense.
