Balkan Food Festival returns to Kalemegdan

The fourth Balkan Food Festival will take place at Kalemegdan, near the Ribar Fountain, from September 10 to September 20. The eleven-day event aims to showcase traditional regional specialties and nearly forgotten Balkan dishes prepared in a street food format.

Featured culinary offerings include specialties from southern Serbia, specifically Pirot and Svrljig, such as Belmuž and Janija. Other participants will provide organic roasted lamb and pork from Medvednik near Valjevo, authentic ćevapi from Novi Pazar, and various flavors from Vojvodina. The festival will also feature a selection of domestic wines and a dedicated Rakija bar showcasing authentic spirits from across the Balkans.

Programming includes a burek workshop on September 13, daily musical performances featuring Balkan melodies, creative workshops, pub quizzes, and sports activities for children and seniors.
