Balkan literary festivals debut in Sarajevo and Herceg Novi

The 23rd International Festival of Children’s Literature “Vezeni most” will take place in Sarajevo from 14‑17 October, featuring the regional “Mali princ” award for the best children’s book. Nominations this year include titles and authors from Bosnia‑Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Croatia.

The 24th International Book Fair, titled “Trg od knjige”, opened in Herceg Novi, Montenegro. The event began with a presentation of Milosav Tešić’s book “Sa Avale pogled” and a musical‑poetic evening by actor Ivan Bosiljčić. Local officials highlighted the role of literature in cultural identity, urging greater use of Cyrillic in publishing. Subsequent evenings showcased works such as “Tesla: svjetlost sjenke” by Zorica Tomić and publications from regional archives.
