Balkan Mediterranean Restaurant in Banff named among world's best

The Balkan Mediterranean Restaurant in Banff, Alberta, has been recognized in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards as one of the best dining establishments globally. The restaurant earned a spot in the top one per cent of restaurants worldwide for 2026.

Specifically, the establishment ranked 14th on Tripadvisor’s list of the world’s best casual restaurants and 4th on the list of the world’s best vegan and vegetarian restaurants. It was noted as the only Canadian restaurant to achieve either of these global rankings. Tripadvisor highlighted the restaurant’s Greek-inspired atmosphere, service, and menu items such as grilled meats and fresh salads.

Banff remains a significant culinary destination with over 150 restaurants serving a variety of cuisines, including Alpine Italian, Japanese, and Canadian fare.
