Balıkesir Agriculture and Livestock Fair opens in Turkey

The 3rd Balıkesir Agriculture and Livestock Fair is currently being held at the Ali Hikmet Paşa Sports Facilities from September 24 to 27, 2026. Organized by the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, the event hosts approximately 350 brands, with national companies accounting for about 30% of participants.

The opening ceremony included Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın and Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu. Mayor Akın noted that the number of participants has doubled compared to the previous year, emphasizing the importance of the sector to the local economy and the livelihoods of thousands of families.

In addition to modern agricultural machinery and livestock equipment, the fair showcases traditional crafts. Ali Osman, a craftsman from the Biga district of Çanakkale, presented livestock bells that his family has been manufacturing for four to five generations. He explained that the bells are custom-made with different sounds and specifications depending on the animal's movement and structure.
