Balıkesir Commodity Exchange announces organ elections for October 2026

The Balıkesir Commodity Exchange (Balıkesir Ticaret Borsası) has announced that its organ elections, which will determine the members of the Exchange Assembly and the Board of Directors, are scheduled for October 15, 2026.

During the current term, which began following the previous elections on November 22, 2022, the Exchange has focused on infrastructure and services for the regional agriculture and livestock sectors. A major highlight of this period is a $5.5 million investment in a licensed warehouse facility by its subsidiary, BTB Balıkesir Ticaret Borsası Lisanslı Depoculuk A. Ş. The 30,000-ton capacity facility began receiving harvests in July 2026, with its official opening held on August 20, 2026.

Board Chairman Mehmet Çetin emphasized the importance of member participation in the upcoming elections to shape the future of the institution. Beyond its registered members, the Exchange continues to provide services to regional producers, including weighing services, food analysis laboratories, soil analysis laboratories, and projects related to geographical indication registration.
