Balıkesir Municipality launches mobile veterinary service for street animals
Balıkesir Büyükşehir Belediyesi has launched a mobile veterinary service to provide free medical care to street animals across 20 districts. Under the project titled ‘Sahip çıkıyoruz, sahipsiz bırakmıyoruz’ (We take care of them, we do not leave them helpless), the Can Dost Mobil Tedavi vehicle is traveling throughout the province to ensure the health and safety of local animals.
Led by Mayor Ahmet Akın, the initiative includes daily health screenings, parasite applications, rabies vaccinations, and routine check-ups performed by expert veterinarians. The mobile unit is equipped with modern medical technology to facilitate early diagnosis and immediate treatment.
The tour began in Savaştepe on August 24 and is scheduled to continue through September 18. The program includes stops in various locations such as Bigadiç, Sındırgı, Kepsut, Dursunbey, Balya, İvrindi, Havran, Edremit, Burhaniye, Gömeç, Ayvalık, Susurluk, Manyas, Gönen, Bandırma, Erdek, Marmara Island, Karesi, and Altıeylül.
