Balıkesir parents protest alleged peer bullying at primary school
Parents at Ali Hikmet Paşa Primary School in the Karesi district of Balıkesir have gathered to protest ongoing peer bullying and physical assaults involving a 4th-grade student.
According to parents, a male student has been repeatedly assaulting and threatening other children since last year. One parent, Mizgin Şayan, reported that her child has been targeted for two consecutive years and has obtained a medical report following an assault. Parents expressed fear for their children's safety, noting that some students are now reluctant to attend school due to the violence, which recently included an incident that left a child with a bruised eye.
Perihan Uz, another parent, stated that while they have submitted formal petitions to the authorities, no effective solutions have been implemented. The parents emphasized that their goal is not to remove the student from the educational environment, but to ensure a safe and healthy learning atmosphere for all children.
