Balıkesir police arrest 97 wanted individuals in week-long crackdown

Between September 7 and 13, police in Balıkesir, Turkey, conducted extensive operations targeting various crimes, resulting in the apprehension of 97 individuals wanted for various offenses.

In narcotics-related operations, seven suspects were arrested. Law enforcement officials reported seizing a significant quantity of illegal substances, including 109,455 medicinal pills, alongside various weapons such as unlicensed pistols, shotguns, and ammunition.

Anti-smuggling efforts led to legal action against 12 suspects and the seizure of large quantities of illegal cigarettes, tobacco, and 3,475 kilograms of mixed fuel. Additionally, authorities conducted inspections of over 31,000 vehicles and questioned more than 84,000 people during the week-long crackdown.
