Balıkesir University hosts international applied mathematics conference
The 4th International Conference on Applied Mathematics in Engineering (ICAME'26) was held in Ayvalık, Turkey, hosted by the Mathematics Department and the Industrial Engineering Department of Balıkesir University. The event utilized a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and online participation from researchers worldwide.
The conference focused on interdisciplinary studies connecting theoretical fields such as artificial intelligence, optimization, control, fractional calculus, and operations research with practical applications in energy, manufacturing, healthcare, physical and biological systems, and finance.
A total of 259 authors and co-authors from 34 different countries participated, resulting in 133 presentations. The event featured six invited keynote speakers from institutions in South Korea, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Poland, and Bulgaria. Additionally, a roundtable meeting was organized to provide guidance and networking opportunities for young researchers.
