Turkish municipalities launch local youth and cultural initiatives

Various municipalities in Turkey are conducting local initiatives focused on youth engagement, community services, and cultural development.

In Balıkesir, the Youth Council held its first meeting of the new term to establish leadership roles and plan projects aimed at increasing youth participation in urban management. Meanwhile, in Çine, municipal council members discussed addressing substance abuse among youth through increased sports infrastructure and community cooperation.

In Kayseri, Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç met with village headmen (muhtars) in Develi to discuss local needs and inspected the Develi District Public Library. Similarly, Ordu's municipal libraries, including the Kirazlimanı Youth Library and Ulu Camii Public Library, have collectively hosted over 207,000 visitors for reading and study.

Cultural and educational programs are also active in other regions. Kahramanmaraş hosted storytelling and art workshops for children at the Rasim Özdenören Children's Library. In Bornova, Doğan Baran Mengüş was re-elected as President of the City Council, with plans to launch international music festivals and community committees. Additionally, in Kocaeli, a book launch featuring Kocaelispor players aims to foster local identity among children through literature.
