Ballet de Kíiv returns to Barcelona with new Swan Lake production

The Ballet de Kíiv is returning to Barcelona’s Teatre Tívoli to perform a renewed production of Tchaikovsky’s ‘Swan Lake’. The performances are scheduled to run from August 18 to August 30.

Directed by Víktor Ishchuk, this new version features updated choreography, scenography, and musical arrangements designed to highlight the talent of a new generation of dancers. The production includes soloists Veranika Auchynnikav, Yevhen Svyetlitsa, and Cuban dancer Paolo de Jesús González, who performs the role of Von Rothbart.

The company maintains a strong connection to Barcelona, noting that the city was the first to welcome them following the start of the war in Ukraine. This annual visit has become a tradition for the company as it continues to expand its international presence.
