Harry Kane wins 2026 Ballon d’Or at London ceremony FAST-MOVING
Harry Kane has been awarded the 2026 Ballon d’Or, becoming the first English player to win the prestigious trophy since Michael Owen in 2001. The ceremony, organized by France Football, was held at the London Palladium, marking the first time the event was hosted outside of France.
Kane, playing for Bayern Munich, secured the award following an exceptional season in which he scored 73 goals for both club and country. His achievements included winning the Bundesliga and the German Cup, as well as leading England to a third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup.
In the women’s category, Alexia Putellas claimed her third Ballon d’Or, following a season where she led FC Barcelona to a Champions League title. Other notable awards from the evening included Lamine Yamal winning the Kopa Trophy for best young player, Unai Simón receiving the Yachine Trophy for best goalkeeper, and Luis de la Fuente being named Men’s Coach of the Year.
