Ballon d'Or 2026 ceremony to be held in London

The 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, October 26, at the Palladium Theatre in London. This marks a significant departure from tradition, as the event moves from its long-standing venue in Paris to the United Kingdom to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the first award.

Lamine Yamal has emerged as a primary favorite following a season where he recorded 26 goals and 21 assists, winning La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup, and the World Cup with Spain. Other prominent contenders include Harry Kane, who recorded 73 goals for club and country, and Kylian Mbappé. The shortlist of 30 nominees also features names such as Ousmane Dembélé, Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, and Lionel Messi.

In addition to the main award, the ceremony will present the Yachine Trophy for best goalkeeper, the Kopa Trophy for best young player, and awards for best coach and best club.
