Balloon festivals scheduled in Brazil and Portugal

Various hot air balloon festivals are scheduled to take place in Brazil and Portugal.

In Bento Gonçalves, Brazil, the VIII Festival Bento Balonismo is commencing at Fundaparque. The event features special balloon designs, including models such as the ‘gralha azul’, ‘baby car’, and ‘pipa-pau’. Local pilots note that the festival helps consolidate the region as a tourist destination by offering aerial views of the local valleys, mountains, and vineyards.

In Portugal, the 29th edition of the FIBAQ – Festival Internacional de Balões de Ar Quente will run from November 7 to 12. The festival will move through several locations in the Alto Alentejo region, including Ponte de Sor, Montargil, Monforte, Fronteira, and Alter do Chão. Highlights include ‘Night Glow’ events, where balloons remain on the ground and burners are activated to music, as well as free and captive flights for spectators.
