Balneário Camboriú Council approves regional development and cultural funds

The Balneário Camboriú City Council has approved legislative measures focused on regional development and cultural funding.

Complementary Law Project 10/2026 was passed to expand the Municipal Council for the Development of the Southern Region (COMDERES). The amendment adds two seats to the council: one for the Interpraias Agency and another for local financial institutions and credit cooperatives. This move aims to integrate regional business expertise and foster a more favorable environment for entrepreneurship and economic sustainability.

Additionally, the council approved Ordinary Law Project 178/2026, which authorizes a supplementary credit of R$ 430,000. These funds, redirected from the Balneário Camboriú Cultural Foundation, are designated for several local events, including the 14th Farroupilha Camp and Festival, the 2nd Literary Festival, the 15th Song Festival, and the ‘Cultura na Rua’ event. Both measures now await review by the mayor for potential sanction or veto.
