Balneário Camboriú launches anti‑violence campaign and debates two‑way bridge plan

The municipality of Balneário Camboriú began its annual "Agosto Lilás" campaign on 1 August, with mayor Juliana Pavan urging the community to end violence against women. The program includes free events, public lighting in lilac, talks and outreach to strengthen the protection network and encourage reporting.

At the same time, city councilor Victor Forte submitted a proposal asking the mayor’s office to study a seasonal two‑way traffic arrangement for the planned Barra bridge that would connect Barra Sul to the Barra neighbourhood. Forte argues the bridge should operate in both directions during the low‑traffic season and revert to a one‑way flow in the high‑traffic summer months to improve flow and reduce costs.
