Balneário Camboriú launches emergency slope stabilization works
Emergency works to stabilize the slope on Rua Indonésia in the Bairro das Nações began on 4 July. The first phase involves geological cleaning and adjustments to existing containment structures, followed by controlled removal of unstable rocks. The project is being carried out by the landowner under the guidance and monitoring of Balneário Camboriú’s Civil Defense, aiming to lower the risk of rockfalls that followed heavy rains in April.
Traffic on Avenida Martin Luther has been re‑routed, with a former parking lane now serving as a two‑lane carriageway to maintain flow during preventive road closures. New Jersey barriers have also been installed on Rua Indonésia as part of the broader preventive measures adopted after the April incident.
