Balneário Camboriú launches new tourism brand and expands safety tech
On Thursday (30) the city of Balneário Camboriú officially presented a new tourism brand with the slogan “A cidade que acontece” (“The city that happens”). The visual identity was created by Agência Tempo Brasil after a year‑long process that included research by Sebrae/SC and the “Cidade Empreendedora” program. Mayor Juliana Pavane said the brand reflects the city’s constant renewal and aims to strengthen its national and international tourism profile. Tourism secretary Evandro Neiva highlighted the need for a competitive communication tool for the tourism market.
The municipality also promoted its reputation as one of Brazil’s safest tourist destinations. It is listed among the 20 cities in the Connected Smart Cities ranking. For 2026 the Secretariat of Security and Public Order (Seseg) has a budget of R$48 million, the largest ever, and last year invested more than R$1.5 million in equipment such as drones, modern monitoring centers, and new motorcycles for the municipal guard. A pilot automated drone program is being tested along the waterfront, and the “Pacotaço da Segurança” plan adds further technology and resources.
