Balneário Camboriú nears designation as Beach Tennis Capital

The Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina has approved a bill to recognize Balneário Camboriú as the state's Beach Tennis Capital. The project, authored by deputies Julio Garcia and Carlos Humberto, now awaits a final vote before being sent to Governor Jorginho Mello for sanction.

The initiative follows the growing visibility of the sport in the region, which already hosts major events such as the International Tennis Federation (ITF) BT400. Local officials note that the sport serves as a significant economic driver, boosting sectors including hospitality, food services, and local commerce.
