A 15-year-old teenager was detained after dispersing a gaseous substance in a classroom at the Diogo Penha State High School in Balneário Pinhal, Rio Grande do Sul.

Approximately 20 people, including students and teachers, experienced irritation in their eyes, noses, and respiratory tracts following the release of the compound in the enclosed space. While several individuals required medical attention, no serious clinical conditions have been reported.

The teenager reportedly claimed the substance was homemade, created using information found online to simulate the effects of pepper spray. Authorities have seized the material for forensic analysis to determine its exact chemical composition and the specific risks posed by the dispersion.
