Balneário Rincão and Curitiba municipal chambers adopt ethics measures

The president of the Balneário Rincão City Council, Rogério Cardoso, announced plans to draft a code of ethics and parliamentary decorum following a physical altercation between two councilors during a plenary session. The proposal, being prepared with the council’s legal advisors, aims to prevent future incidents and improve the body’s public image.

In Curitiba, the City Council’s Ethics and Decorum Committee convened a hearing on the disciplinary case against councilor Eder Borges. Borges is accused of making a hand‑gun salute during a group photograph on 1 April 2026, a gesture associated with former President Jair Bolsonaro. The session, led by rapporteur Laís Leão, heard testimony from fellow councilors and staff to gather evidence for a forthcoming report.
