Baloch leader urges US intervention over Pakistan airstrikes
Tara Chand, president of the Baloch American Congress, has written to US President Donald Trump requesting urgent intervention following Pakistani military airstrikes in the Surab district of Balochistan. The strikes, reported to have occurred in the early hours of August 12 in the Gidar area, allegedly targeted residential zones and resulted in the deaths of more than 30 civilians, including women and children.
In his letter, Chand requested that the US administration investigate whether any US-origin aircraft, weapons, drones, or military technology were utilized during the operation. He called for end-use and compliance reviews of US defense equipment supplied to Pakistan to ensure no violations of US law, arms-transfer conditions, or international humanitarian law occurred. Chand emphasized the need for an independent investigation and accountability, offering to provide documentation to US officials to assist in establishing the facts of the incident.
