Balochistan Home Minister's convoy attacked in Mastung
The security convoy of Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau was attacked by unidentified armed individuals in the Khad Kocha area of Mastung. The incident occurred while the convoy was traveling from Kalat to Quetta.
Police reported that while Langau remained unharmed, at least six security personnel were injured during the exchange of fire. The injured were transported to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Hospital in Quetta for medical treatment. Following the ambush, the attackers fled the scene, prompting ongoing police operations to locate them.
In a statement following the attack, Langau expressed that the incident would not weaken his resolve, remarking, ‘I cannot be frightened by these firecrackers.’ The attack follows a period of increased violence in the region, including a recent incident in which a sessions judge and his gunman were killed in Mastung.
