Balrampur student dies following loud DJ music during procession

A Class 2 student at Divine Public School in Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, died after reportedly suffering three heart attacks in her classroom during a Ganesh immersion procession. The incident occurred around 11:00 AM on Monday, September 21, 2026.

CCTV footage from the classroom shows the student, daughter of Sonu Tiwari, appearing to experience distress while loud DJ music from the passing procession echoed through the building. The school management and the child’s family have alleged that the extreme volume of the music contributed to the sudden medical emergency. School manager Ashish Upadhyay noted that the high-volume music caused vibrations within the classroom.

While the family maintains that the loud noise triggered the fatal attacks, an official medical cause of death and a direct link to the sound levels have not yet been formally established.
