Brazilian municipalities hold public hearings for 2027 budgets

Various Brazilian municipalities are conducting public processes to shape local legislation and municipal budgets for 2027.

In Mairiporã, over 100 resident suggestions were submitted for the Annual Budget Law (LOA), which follows a multi-million real guideline law. Balsas held a public hearing to allow citizens to prioritize investments in health, education, and infrastructure. Similarly, Rio Bonito has scheduled a public hearing to discuss the 2027 budget and resource allocation.

Other legislative activities include Ibirá’s meeting to develop the ‘Comércio Forte’ project for local economic development, and Votuporanga’s upcoming vote on the ‘Autism-Friendly Company’ seal. In Limeira, the City Council is set to vote on eight projects, including policies for child rights and digital technology guidelines. Additionally, Jundiaí has opened a public consultation regarding the protection of the Serra do Japi territory, and Rio Bonito has extended registration for its Municipal Culture Council elections.
