Balsas police arrest suspect in fatal shooting of teenager

Authorities in Balsas, Maranhão, have arrested a man suspected of a shooting that killed a 13-year-old boy and injured a 17-year-old. The attack occurred on Wednesday night in the Santa Rita neighborhood when a man on a motorcycle opened fire on two teenagers riding a bicycle.

During the investigation, police recovered a motorcycle, clothing, and electronic devices at a property used by the suspects. Two other individuals were previously detained in connection with the crime. Forensic teams recovered 17 .380 caliber shell casings from the scene.
