Baltic parliamentary leaders affirm unified support for Ukraine
Parliamentary leaders from the Baltic states met in Tallinn to establish unified security priorities and support for Ukraine. Lithuanian Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas, Estonian Riigikogu Speaker Lauri Husaru, and Latvian Saeima Speaker Daiga Mieriņa issued a joint declaration emphasizing regional security and cooperation within the European Union and NATO.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stating they will not recognize any de jure or de facto Russian annexations of Ukrainian territory. The declaration pledges continued political, economic, financial, and military assistance to Ukraine.
Additionally, the Baltic representatives committed to increasing pressure through sanctions against Russia and exploring methods to utilize frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine. They also emphasized the necessity of ensuring accountability for Russian aggression and violations of international law.
