Baltic Sea resorts see strong autumn tourism surge

Coastal resorts along the Polish Baltic Sea are experiencing a significant surge in tourism during the autumn months. According to Hanna Mojsiuk, president of the Northern Chamber of Commerce in Szczecin, this season has been one of the best in a decade. The trend is driven by favorable weather and lower prices compared to the summer peak.

Tourists are increasingly visiting towns such as Świnoujście, Kołobrzeg, and Międzyzdroje for activities like walking, dining, and mushroom picking rather than traditional sunbathing. Visitors include locals from Szczecin, other Polish regions, and Germany.

In the village of Pobierowo, the impact of the massive Hotel Gołębiewski remains a point of interest. Despite recording over 88,000 overnight stays during the summer, the hotel operates largely as an independent entity, providing enough on-site attractions that guests rarely venture into the village itself. This has prevented the large-scale crowds from significantly altering the local atmosphere of the small town.
