Baltimore Community Back-to-School Supply Giveaways

Throughout August 2026, a network of community organizations, churches, businesses and recreation centers across Baltimore and its suburbs are distributing free backpacks, school supplies and related services to families preparing for the new school year. Events include a sold‑out giveaway on Aug. 8 at 801 N. Mount Street, a North Face fashion show on Aug. 14 in Towson, multiple drives on Aug. 15 at Poppleton Recreation Center, St. John Baptist Church and other venues, and a series of market‑style giveaways through the end of the month.

The Bay Vista Recreation Center also opened registration for its annual backpack giveaway, targeting kindergarten‑age children and offering essential educational materials. Registration remains open while supplies last, and the event relies on volunteer coordination and corporate sponsorships to meet demand. Together, these initiatives aim to provide essential school resources, health information, food and entertainment to local households.
