Baltimore mass shooting injures seven people, including a 4-year-old

Seven people were injured during a mass shooting on Wednesday night near the Douglass Homes public housing community in East Baltimore. The victims include a 4-year-old girl, who underwent surgery and remains in serious but stable condition, and six others aged 16, 18, 20, 20, 21, and 43. The other six victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley stated that investigators believe a group of individuals opened fire without regard for who might be struck. Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage to determine if the suspects fled on foot, by car, or via bicycle or scooter. No suspects have been identified, and a motive has not yet been established.

The Uvalde Foundation for Kids, also known as the Youth Peace & Justice Foundation, has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. The organization is also providing assistance to the victims and their families for medical needs, emergency expenses, and trauma support.
