Baltimore MTA bus driver charged in pedestrian hit-and-run

A Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus operator, 63-year-old Curtis Collick, has been charged following a hit-and-run incident in downtown Baltimore. According to police and court documents, the collision occurred on September 3 at the intersection of North Charles Street and Fayette Street.

Video footage shows 26-year-old Riah Luby being struck by the vehicle while walking in a crosswalk. Investigators state that after the impact, Collick briefly pulled over to check the vehicle before leaving the scene. Collick faces charges including leaving the scene of an accident, failing to provide required information, and failing to render reasonable assistance to an injured person.

Witnesses reported that the pedestrian was knocked backward by the impact. The incident has drawn significant local attention due to the driver's employment with the public transit agency and the nature of the departure from the scene.
