Baltimore Orioles place Blaze Alexander on injured list

The Baltimore Orioles have placed infielder and outfielder Blaze Alexander on the 10-day injured list due to lower back discomfort. Alexander was forced from a game against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday after experiencing back spasms.

To fill the roster spot, the Orioles have recalled Jeremiah Jackson from Triple-A Norfolk. Alexander has been a versatile contributor during his first season in Baltimore, appearing in 93 games and maintaining a .303 batting average.

The injury comes at a critical time as the Orioles remain four games behind a playoff spot with just over two weeks remaining in the regular season. Additionally, the team is managing an injury to shortstop Gunnar Henderson, who was removed from a recent game due to left knee discomfort and was absent from the lineup on Wednesday night.
