Baltimore police officer Daniel Oxendine arrested for alleged rape

Baltimore police officer Daniel Oxendine, 32, has been arrested and charged following an investigation into the sexual assault of a woman in Edgewood. Oxendine faces two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree rape, and two counts of a law enforcement officer engaging in a sexual act with a victim or witness of an investigation.

The incident occurred in June after Oxendine, who was on duty, encountered the victim while responding to a domestic altercation in Baltimore. After the woman and her son requested a ride home, Oxendine’s supervisor granted permission for him to transport them. Upon arriving at the victim's apartment, Oxendine allegedly entered the residence and sexually assaulted her.

Authorities stated that DNA evidence conclusively identified Oxendine as the offender. The Harford County Sheriff's Office noted that detectives believe Oxendine may have committed similar offenses beyond this specific incident. He is currently being held at the Harford County Detention Center.
