Baltimore Public Housing Waiting Lists Open for Applications on Aug. 17

The Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) will begin accepting online applications on Monday, Aug. 17 at 9 a.m., continuing through Aug. 31 at 11:59 p.m., for several low‑income public‑housing waiting lists. The lists include Senior Housing for adults 62 and older, Mixed‑Population Housing for elderly families and families with disabilities, and Accessible Housing for applicants who need wheelchair‑accessible units or other disability accommodations.

Applications must be submitted through HABC’s online portal, but residents without internet access can obtain computer use and assistance at designated community organizations, or call the authority for language or disability support. HABC will use a computerized Random Representation Selection lottery to choose up to 13,000 households from all completed applications; the process is not first‑come, first‑served. Selected applicants will be notified by email, and placement will depend on lottery position, admission preferences, unit availability and household size. Eligibility requires meeting income limits, passing a criminal background check, and satisfying citizenship or immigration requirements as outlined by HUD guidelines.
