Baltimore Ravens face injury concerns and standout performances in training camp

The Baltimore Ravens are navigating injury concerns and roster changes during their second week of training camp in Owings Mills. Defensive depth has been a primary focus as several players remain sidelined. Currently not practicing include wide receiver Dayton Wade, linebackers Carl Jones and Teddye Buchanan (PUP), defensive lineman Calais Campbell and Aeneas Peebles, nose tackle Travis Jones (PUP), and defensive back Matthew McDoom.

To address linebacker depth, the Ravens released McDoom and signed Jamon Johnson, who previously played for the Green Bay Packers. While key defensive linemen Nnamdi Madubuike and John Jenkins have returned to the field, the timeline for other injured players remains uncertain.

On the field, several players have stood out during padded practices. Cornerback T. J. Tampa has emerged as a strong contender for the No. 4 cornerback position, demonstrating physicality and forcing a fumble during a recent practice. Additionally, rookie kicker Tyler Loop has shown signs of improvement following a period of scrutiny after missing field goals earlier in camp.
