Baltimore woman charged after hitting police officer's bike with Tesla

A 24-year-old Baltimore woman, Tamia Anderson, faces multiple charges after an encounter with police in Fells Point escalated into a violent incident involving a vehicle.

According to charging documents, the incident began on August 13 when Officer Lawrence Fasano attempted to issue Anderson a parking citation for her illegally parked 2022 pink Tesla Model 3 on Thames Street. Prosecutors allege that instead of complying, Anderson entered her vehicle and struck the front wheel of Fasano’s patrol bicycle. The charging documents further state that Anderson threw a glass bottle toward the officer, though it did not strike him.

As the officer attempted to follow on his bicycle, the encounter escalated a second time when Anderson allegedly put her vehicle in reverse and struck the bicycle again. Anderson has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and carrying a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure, alongside several traffic offenses. Baltimore State’s Attorney Ivan Bates commented on the incident, noting the danger officers face during routine duties.
