Baluch Human Rights Committee Launches Global Campaign on National Gathering Anniversary
The Baluch Yakejethi Committee (BYC), a human‑rights organization, announced a multi‑layered global campaign to mark the second anniversary of the Baluch National Gathering held in Quetta on 28 July 2024. The group described the gathering as “a symbol of the Baluch people’s collective resistance, political awareness and unwavering resolve,” and said it followed two years of heavy state repression, including military action, internet shutdowns, arbitrary arrests, road blockades and violent clashes that resulted in deaths and injuries.
BYC said the campaign will preserve documentation of the July 2024 events through a permanent digital archive, hold webinars, and gather testimon from survivors, families of victims, and eyewitnesses to ensure accountability and strengthen collective struggle. The organization called on participants and supporters to submit written or recorded accounts, travel details, evidence of roadblocks, and any documentation of alleged government interference.
