Balvano inaugurates staircase dedicated to Michele Ferrero

The municipality of Balvano has inaugurated a staircase dedicated to Michele Ferrero, symbolizing growth, commitment, and perseverance. The ceremony was attended by various civil and military authorities, including the President of the Basilicata Region, Vito Bardi, and the Mayor of Alba, Alberto Gatto.

The dedication honors the late entrepreneur and the deep historical bond between the Ferrero company and the Balvano community. This relationship originated following the devastating 1980 earthquake, when Ferrero's decision to establish a production plant provided jobs and economic opportunities that aided the town's reconstruction and rebirth.

Officials noted that the staircase serves as a metaphor for the challenges overcome by both the company and the town. The Ferrero plant remains a significant industrial presence in the region, representing a model of corporate responsibility and social investment in the local territory.
