Balázs Bús remains in detention in NKA case
The Kecskemét Court of Appeals has upheld the decision to extend the detention of Balázs Bús, the former vice president of the National Cultural Fund (NKA). The detention is legally binding until December 25.
The investigation involves allegations of breach of trust causing significant financial loss. Prosecutors allege that the NKA decision-making body exceeded its authority by deciding on 1,079 grant applications in violation of legal regulations, reportedly causing a financial loss of more than 17 billion forints.
Other individuals previously ordered into detention in connection with this case include Attila Ughy, former college dean, and Anikó Krucsainé Herter, director general of the National Cultural Support Management. The court determined that the extension was necessary to ensure the suspect's presence and to prevent the obstruction of evidence.
