Bambiha Gang fugitives deported from Malaysia to India

Indian law enforcement agencies have secured the deportation of three fugitives linked to the Bambiha Gang from Malaysia. The individuals, identified as Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh, and Pawandeep Singh, were apprehended in Malaysia and subsequently arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi upon their arrival in India.

The suspects face various criminal charges, including extortion, cross-border arms smuggling, narco-trafficking, and involvement in a foiled grenade attack in Ludhiana, Punjab. Jaspreet Singh is also linked to the murder of Yadvinder Singh and a former Punjab University leader's driver.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah reported that Indian agencies have facilitated the deportation of 51 hardened criminals in 2026 so far. This follows the recent return of Virender Singh Basoya, a key operative in drug trafficking, who was extradited from the United Arab Emirates.
