Global hospital rankings highlight excellence in South Korea, Italy, and Brazil

The 2027 World’s Best Specialized Hospitals rankings, released by Newsweek and Statista, highlight significant achievements for medical institutions in South Korea, Italy, and Brazil.

In South Korea, Asan Medical Center secured six spots in the global top 10, including 2nd place in endocrinology. Severance Hospital ranked 2nd overall in clinical fields for South Korea, with its orthopedics department placing 6th globally. Additionally, a survey by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute shows growing international interest in Korean medical services, with 61.2% of respondents expressing intent to visit for medical tourism.

Italian hospitals also performed strongly. Policlinico Gemelli appeared in all 13 evaluated specialties, ranking 3rd globally in obstetrics and gynecology. The Bambino Gesù pediatric hospital rose to 4th place worldwide, maintaining its position as the top pediatric facility in Europe.

In Brazil, Hospital Pequeno Príncipe reached 63rd place in the global pediatric rankings, remaining the highest-ranked exclusively pediatric hospital in Latin America.
