Bamboo Airways has inaugurated its first direct international route connecting Macau, China, to Quy Nhon, Vietnam. On October 25, flight QH9585 carried 183 international passengers to Phu Cat Airport, marking a significant milestone for regional tourism.
Trinh Van Quyet, Chairman of Bamboo Airways, noted that the new route aims to connect international travelers to the diverse landscapes of the region, including the coastal areas of Quy Nhon and the highlands of Pleiku.
To support increased international traffic, Phu Cat Airport has undergone significant infrastructure upgrades. These include the renovation of the T2 terminal and the construction of a second runway, which is expected to begin operations on October 29. The new runway is designed to accommodate wide-body aircraft, such as the Boeing 787.
