Bambéto residents hold weekly sanitation drives in Ratoma

In the Bambéto neighborhood of the Ratoma commune, local citizens and the neighborhood council continue their weekly sanitation operations. On October 31, 2026, residents and local leaders mobilized early to clean public spaces and waste accumulation points, specifically around the Bambéto interchange.

Elhadji Mamadou Ousmane Diallo, president of the Bambéto neighborhood council, expressed the community's determination to maintain cleanliness but highlighted significant challenges. He reported that waste is frequently dumped in recently cleaned areas by residents from neighboring districts, including Koloma and Dar es Salaam.

Diallo noted that recent administrative restructuring has complicated coordination between neighboring areas. He has called for intervention from the state and the Ratoma commune to improve waste management collaboration and address the issue of illegal dumping.
