Bambu Lab launches consumer-grade UV printer project

Bambu Lab has launched a new project to develop consumer-grade UV printers, specifically ultraviolet light-curing inkjet printers. The company has established a professional R&D team, with recruitment covering over ten specialized areas including printhead drivers, waveforms, ink paths, material verification, and software coordination.

This move signals an expansion of the company's technical roadmap. Following the recent preview of its R1 laser product, Bambu Lab is expected to simultaneously advance three distinct technology lines: 3D printing, laser processing, and UV printing. This strategy aims to transition the company from a specialized 3D printing manufacturer into a broader personal manufacturing ecosystem.

While UV printing has traditionally been an industrial-scale technology requiring professional operation, there is growing market interest in desktop-sized consumer versions. Bambu Lab, which has achieved cumulative domestic sales of over 1 million 3D printers, is positioning itself to enter this emerging segment of the desktop manufacturing market.
