Bamo Meïté faces uncertain future at Olympique de Marseille
Bamo Meïté, a 24-year-old central defender for Olympique de Marseille, is facing a lack of playing time under manager Bruno Genesio. Despite his athletic qualities, the Ivorian player has yet to secure official minutes this season.
Former Marseille striker Bakari Koné has advised the player to seek a loan or transfer if clear guarantees regarding playing time are not provided by the winter break. Koné emphasized that a defender of Meïté's age needs consistent starts to develop maturity and anticipation, warning that remaining on the bench could waste his talent.
Meïté is currently under contract until June 2028 and is valued at approximately 7 million euros. His potential departure could provide much-needed liquidity for the club as it navigates financial pressures from the DNCG and UEFA.
