Baní hosts inaugural Peravia Superior Basketball Tournament

The first Superior Basketball Tournament of Peravia has been inaugurated at the Máximo Gómez Sports Center in Baní. Organized by Deputy Luis Báez, the event aims to strengthen local basketball practice and provide opportunities for regional talent.

The tournament features eight franchises representing various communities, including Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, Los Barracones, El Fundo, Ana Reyes de Pérez, San José de Matanzas, Don Gregorio de Nizao, and Las Carreras de Villa Fundación. More than 400 athletes are participating in the competition, which is scheduled to run through September.

To ensure competitive parity, each team is permitted to reinforce its roster with one Category C player. Financial incentives for the top performers include 500,000 pesos for the champion, 300,000 pesos for the runner-up, and 100,000 pesos for the third-place finisher.
