Banagher Precast Concrete factory accident claims two lives

A fatal workplace accident occurred at the Banagher Precast Concrete factory in County Offaly, Ireland, resulting in the deaths of two Romanian nationals. Mihai Chinez, 49, and his daughter, Denisa Mihaela Chinez, 24, died on Monday, September 28, while working on a mold used in the concrete production process.

The incident took place around 11:40 AM. Despite the intervention of emergency services, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident, and the facility's operations have been temporarily suspended.

The tragedy occurred on a day of personal significance for the family, as it marked the 26th wedding anniversary of Mihai and his wife, Angela, who also works at the company.
